Second Sunday of Advent

This Tuesday is the beginning of the jubilee year of mercy.  Pope Francis has declared that his coming year, beginning with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the universal church will celebrate an extraordinary jubilee year.  Where we will focus on  particular mercies of the church, calling family members back to confession. 

This is a great year to come home . . .

[Pope Francis] has beckoned to us to rise above all those things that are superficial in life, and to go deeper in our own faith, because the world needs it so much. . .  The theme throughout his trip is one of taking responsibility.  Responsibility for those less fortunate than us.  Responsibility for taking action, because the universal call of the Church is holiness of life, and holiness of life demands action.
